Lamplit Tour
Guided museum tour
On Devil’s Night, when the veil between worlds grows thin, something darker stirs within the limestone walls of the Conrad-Caldwell House Museum.
Haunting: Devil’s Night reimagines our annual lamplit tour as a chilling descent into the criminal shadows of the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Drawn by the restless spirits said to haunt the house, or perhaps by Louisville itself, a city built upon vast limestone deposits long associated with death, decay, and preservation, figures of historical violence and obsession emerge to tell their stories.
As guests move through candlelit rooms, they will encounter the voices of real 19th- and early 20th-century serial offenders: men and women shaped by industrialization, urban anonymity, moral panic, and a growing fascination with the macabre. These figures speak not as caricatures, but as products of their time, revealing how fear, power, class, and unchecked brutality thrived alongside progress and refinement.

This tour contains mature themes, including violence and psychological disturbance, and is not suitable for children under the age of 16.
